Hoop Culture is proud to spotlight Chris Johnson, a leader, mentor, and visionary whose work continues to shape the future of grassroots basketball. With over 20 years of coaching experience across boys’ and girls’ basketball, Chris has built a reputation grounded in excellence, integrity, and player development.

A former high school and college coach, Chris’s journey includes coaching stops at both TCU and the University of Arkansas, where he honed his ability to develop players and lead winning programs. Today, as the Director of Texas Premier (formerly CyFair Premier), he has helped guide more than 100 athletes to college scholarships — a milestone that reflects his deep dedication to nurturing young talent. Currently, 36 of those athletes are playing college basketball, with 19 competing at the Division I level.

Beyond his success on the sidelines, Chris is also the Owner of Showcase Hoops, a premier platform that hosts national basketball events and provides critical exposure opportunities for players and teams. Through his Showcase Hoops Circuit, Chris has expanded that mission even further — creating a series of regional events designed to give players and programs the stage they deserve to be seen, evaluated, and celebrated.
